Wii  Games of March!

When comparing the big three consoles, the Nintendo Wii takes the crown for the quantity of releases for the month of March.  Lets be frank though... quality vs. quality has always been a bit of a challenge for the Wii.  With that being said, we are starting to see the results of developers/publishers re-focused efforts due to the success of the Wii platform.

Highlights for the month of March 2009 include the MadWorld, Sonic and the Black Knight, MySims Party, Rune Factory: Frontier, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, and Guitar Hero Metallica.

Check out the full list of new video game releases (USA) for the month of March 2009 on Nintendo Wii!  As always, release dates are subject to change, slip, slide, and be fairly unpredictable.

 

   We Ski and Snowboard
We Ski & Snowboard is a wintry thrill ride through many different environments on the awesome Mt. Angrio and cool Jamboree Snow Resort. Players enjoy the classic motion-based controls popularized by We Ski using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, or by adding the increased realism of the Wii Balance Board for even more ski and snowboard action. Custom characters and player Mii¿s add even more dimension to snow-capped adventures across even more mountain terrain than ever with vast free-riding areas. Leisurely gondola rides to sloping peaks invite a breathtaking panoramic experience, while heli-drops from extreme dizzying heights offer-up opportunities to shred down vertical cliffs and severe precipices. Players should be sure to watch out for avalanches!
   
   Major League Baseball 2K9
Get ready to get your uniform dirty as you play ball on the Wii with Major League Baseball 2K9 by Take-Two. You'll recognize your favorite players as MLB 2K9 captures such minute details as each player's unique batting stances, pitching windups, and swings. With new commentary and gameplay enhancements to all facets of the experience, Major League Baseball 2K9 is a whole new ballgame.
   
   Sonic and the Black Knight
Sonic’s storybook series, which kicked off with the hit Sonic and the Secret Rings, continues in a fast-paced, sword-filled action adventure! In Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic is drawn into the rich, colorful world of King Arthur’s Camelot by the granddaughter of the legendary wizard Merlin who asks him to harness the power of a sacred sword. The heroic hedgehog must fight off the fearsome knights, avoid obstacles and unravel the mystery of a villain who threatens the very existence of Camelot.    Grey's Anatomy
From the publisher/developer Ubisoft comes the first video game adaptation of one of televisions most popular shows -- Grey's Anatomy. Immerse yourself in the world of Grey's Anatomy: The Video Game for Nintendo Wii as Seattle Grace Hospital is struck by one of the worst crises in the hospital's history. The fate of the hospital, its staff, and its patients is in your hands.
   
   Mario Tennis
   The wild multiplayer action of the Nintendo GameCube hit, Mario Power Tennis, returns with Wii controls and widescreen presentation. Mario Power Tennis lets players enjoy an afternoon on the court as their favorite characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, complete with motion-controlled serves and swings. With Wii controls, players can swing the Wii Remote controller to hit forehands and backhands and to apply spin. Experienced gamers can also attach a Nunchuk controller for additional precision.
   
   New Play Control! Pikmin
Life under a microscope fantasy world, Pikmin delivers a unique experience like few before it with a blend of real-time strategy, adventure, and puzzle elements. You control Captain Olimar, a lovable little astronaut, who crash-landed on a planet inhabited by even more lovable little plant creatures known as Pikmin. Olimar can command these creatures RTS-style, assign them tasks, make them attack foes, and gather resources. The ultimate task is to rebuild Olimar's space ship before a 30-day time window elapses.    MadWorld
Sega's Madworld is an inventive third-person action game exclusively for Wii. Produced by Atsushi Inaba, MADWORLD has a unique black and white style depicting an incredibly sharp backdrop that straddles graphic novels and 3D worlds. As players battle opponents, they must master the use of various weapons and items found within their environment, such as chainsaws and street signs, while entertaining sports commentary adds to the third-person gameplay. With its irreverent humor and over-the-top violence, MADWORLD will deliver a unique core gaming experience currently missing on the Wii system.
   
   Totally Spies: Totally Party
Sam, Alex and Clover decide to room together in their dream house. Life couldn't get cooler, until they learn that they've unwittingly made their home right above an Underground Secret Services Center. To prevent a catastrophic security leak, Jerry, the Center Chief has no choice but to take them on as special agents. The game is primarily based upon a series of mini-games distributed around 10 boards and a showroom. On each board, 1 to 3 players will be able to face-off with a bad guy. You must win the mini-games in order to gain popularity points and lay traps against the bad guy. Watch out, the bad guys can also lay traps!
   
   MySims Party
Up to 4 players can test their wits, quickness and skill in 50 mini-games, each hosted by a different MySim. Each of your friends and you can select a custom team of 4 characters to play the huge variety MySims Party has to offer. Outwit friends by selecting the right team who will carry the day in contests based on strength, endurance, speed and luck. Pick carefully though, the wrong team will give your friends the edge over you. Bragging rights only belong to those who choose wisely and play flawlessly. Real People. Real fun. With the MySims.
   
   Trivial Pursuit
The Trivial Pursuit video game from EA builds on the original gameplay with stunning visual presentation, new categories of questions, all-new never before seen questions, and the innovative Facts & Friends game mode. The quick-playing Facts & Friends mode adds a whole new social dynamic to the game that keeps everyone involved by encouraging players to guess whether their opponents will answer their questions correctly. The result is a new take on a tried and true classic that has found a home on the Wii.
 
   
   Samurai Shodown Anthology
The Samurai Shodown Anthology is a compilation of games from the groundbreaking SNK weapon-based fighting Samurai Shodown series.    Broken Sword

   Cate West the Vanishing Files
A series of unsolvable crimes dubbed "The Vanishing Files" have paralyzed the city. The answers are at the tip of your fingers as you seek, search and discover with the Wii Remote.    MotoGP 08
Experience all the thrills and excitement of the premier motorcycle racing championship with the only official game of the MotoGP series. Race as one of the legends or race as yourself. MotoGP 08 is packed with all the tracks, riders and motorcycles from the 2008 racing season. With 28 Metallica songs and 21 other songs that influenced the band, fans will love playing guitars, drums, and singing vocals alongside Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, and Robert Trujillo.
   
   Don King Boxing
In collaboration with the legendary boxing promoter Don King, 2K Sports brings you Don King Boxing for the Nintendo Wii. With the Wii version of this game you'll get a sense of what it's like to be a real professional boxer in your very own living room -- especially when you take full advantage of the game play with the Wii Balance Board. Although the Wii Balance Board enhances your experience, it is optional for game play.
   
   DT Carnage
DT Carnage, be prepared to bring everything you got onto the tracks as you find yourself racing for reputation, honor, and ultimately, your life. Relying on speed alone is no longer enough as explosives and weapons are used on a regular basis making violence the ultimate means to an end in the underground racing world.
