This week, the Black Friday frenzy of announcements, leaks and general hysteria started in earnest almost a full month prior to the big date...
First up, BestBuy's chief marketing officer, Barry Judge announced that BestBuy.com will offer free shipping on everything. The free shipping offer runs from November 1 - December 27, 2011. They guarantee Christmas delivery on all orders prior to Tuesday, December 20th by 11 am. In addition, orders via BestBuy.com can be returned without a re-stocking fee through January 24, 2012.
Yesterday, Target made a few announcements of their own. For the first time, Target will be joining the Midnight Black Friday madness by opening up at Midnight, Friday November 25th.
“The holidays bring hectic schedules and tight budgets, so extending store hours and offering lots of additional ways to save makes Target a great choice for affordable, one-stop holiday shopping,” said Tina Schiel, executive vice president, stores, Target.
In addition to opening at midnight on Black Friday, Target is also extending store hours. Store hours on Black Friday, Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas will be as follows:
Nov. 25: Midnight to 11 p.m.
Dec. 24: 7 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m.
Dec. 26: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Target will continue to offer their price match on identically advertised items (locally). Unfortunately this does not apply to online prices.
Finally, a list of Radio Shack Black Friday promo items have leaked and include a couple notable items. Curiously, every year they always have a special on the PS3 Dualshock 3 controller and Black Friday 2011 is no different!
Radio Shack opens 10am Thursday, November 24th. All deals valid Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

One thing we can all agree on is 2011 is turning out to be one of the better years in terms of quality video game titles, outside of the Wii to Kinect porting going on.
To celebrate the top games of 2011, the Amazon video games team has hand picked over 100 video games that make their 'Hidden Gems of 2011' list...
While we can't agree with all the pics making the list including Sniper: Ghost Warrior (among others), you can't argue with Catherine and No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise getting some love...
